Expectations

"When one's expectations are reduced to zero, one really appreciates everything one does have"

Stephen Hawking

The definition of predictable doesn't apply to this shop. Culinary Arts has a famous stereotype were, people think that is only about cooking. This is not true. Here you'll work with skills such as social, accounting, and time managing, etc. One of the reasons culinary is so different, is because our teacher. Mr. Moir is self-describe as "not a teacher", leaving us with the conclusion that he is not a conventional teacher. Mr. Moir will push you beyond your limits, so you reach and pass your maximum potential. Not to mention Mr. Moir is the only teacher that is willing to help in other classes and encourage you to improve in them. One day you could be reading a book trying to memorise 20 french words, and the next day running out of time because you had to make cupcakes 32 for the juniors...

"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."

Benjamin Franklin

One other thing that is thought about Culinary arts is that it will only lead to being a cook. This is again is wrong, culinary is one of the few shops that would take you anywhere. From being a pastry cook in France to being a food scientist in Rutgers. Also, one of this shop goals is to prepare you to real life. By teaching how to write a job application, giving you due dates so you can practice how to manage your time, public speaking, etc. Culinary is a shop full of surprises where you learn something new and useful every day. All this by teaching unique ways of cooking.
